WEBINAR ON SENSORY PROCESSING DISORDER

As Helen Keller once said, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.”

In this spirit, the Inclusion department organized an online webinar for the parents of students with special educational needs on February 11th, 2023.

Ms. Javeria Aijaz, an Occupational Therapist at the Dubai Autism Center in her session sought to shed light on Sensory Processing Disorder and the difficulties it presents for students diagnosed with ADHD and Autism. Furthermore, parents and teachers were provided with strategies and activities that they could incorporate at home and in class to regulate the sensory needs of our SEN students. This included the use of sensory gym balls, joint compressions, weighted vests, etc. It was a truly insightful session that left the attendees better equipped with a variety of ways to support our boys.
