Beacons of Leadership: Investiture Ceremony (2023-24)

On May 2nd, the Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2023-24 unfolded at the Sheikh Zayed Multipurpose Hall of OOB, bringing together the school community and distinguished guests.  The event marked the official appointment of student leaders for the academic year 2023-24. The Principal & CEO, Mr. Srivalsan Murugan, presided over the event, joined by the Vice Principal, Ms. Sindhu P Nair, Heads of Sections, Supervisors, parents, teachers, and students. Dr. Arindam Banerjee, Deputy Dean at SP Jain School of Global Management’s Dubai Campus, served as the Chief Guest, imparting wisdom on leadership and personal growth.

Through an inspiring address, the principal urged the newly invested leaders to embody strength of character for future success.  Appointments made during the ceremony included the Head Boy - Smaran Srikanth Nair, President of the Student Council - Mohammed Zafar, Sports Captain - Afsar Nisar, and Deputies, with Captains and Vice Captains for each house also elected signifying a diverse and representative student leadership.

The Investiture Ceremony at OOB, a revered annual tradition, serves as a platform to formally appoint student leaders for the academic year aiming to instill a sense of responsibility and leadership qualities in the student body.  This ceremony not only acknowledges the selected leaders but also fosters a spirit of leadership, responsibility, and camaraderie among the student body.

The event concluded with a message of encouragement from Mr. Srivalsan Murugan, emphasizing the potential of the student leaders to inspire and empower their peers.  As the ceremony unfolded, the leaders of tomorrow were entrusted with their roles, and Dr. Arindam Banerjee's words lingered as a guidepost for the journey ahead. The atmosphere brimmed with optimism, marking the beginning of a chapter where these young leaders would undoubtedly leave an indelible mark on the school's legacy.
