Well-being and Mental Health Conference

The Well-being and Mental Health Conference commenced with a warm welcome speech by the Wellington Directors of the Counselling Department. The event aimed to provide valuable insights into mental health, inclusion, and well-being through engaging sessions led by experts in the field. 

The opening session featured a mindfulness activity conducted by Carla Young, Founder, Owner, and Creative Director of Move and Yoga. This session incorporated meditation with sound and material-based relaxation techniques, creating a calming and enriching experience for participants. 

Following this, the keynote speaker, Dr. Waleed Ahmed, Clinical Director and Consultant Psychiatrist for Children and Adolescents, delivered an insightful talk on Biodiversity and Neurodiversity. He provided practical strategies to support individuals with diverse cognitive and psychological needs, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity in mental health practices. 
Dr. Funke Baffour, GEMS Corporate Head of Well-being, addressed the primary purpose of the conference workshops, highlighting the UAE Well-being Agenda. Her session emphasized the significance of fostering mental well-being in educational and professional settings, aligning with national initiatives. Mental Health Conference
