Exploring New Horizons - STEM Trip to USA
Thirty-two boys from OOB, accompanied by their teachers went for a six-night, seven days STEM trip organized by Compass International, to the United States of America, which was not only a most memorable learning experience, but also a most fruitful excursion.
The trip included visits to the vibrant cities of New York, Orlando and Washington D.C. Our students embarked on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure filled with enriching experiences, learning opportunities and unforgettable memories.
Our first stop was the iconic New York City, where students explored the bustling streets of Times Square, visited the renowned Statue of Liberty and explored the aerial view from the Empire State Building, from the 80th and 86th floors! They were inspired by exhibits and experiences in the iconic building and the Liberty Museum that sparked their curiosity and passion for science and technology.
Our next destination was the historic city of Washington D.C., where students immersed themselves in the rich heritage of American innovation and leadership. They toured the Smithsonian museum, where they encountered awe-inspiring exhibits and artifacts that showcased the wonders of science, technology, and engineering.
Additionally, our students had the privilege of visiting the United States Capitol, the White House and the Washington Monument, a testament to the leadership of George Washington, Lincoln Memorial, honoring and memorializing his enduring contributions to the United States. Each visit enabled the students to gain a deeper understanding of the nation's history.
Next, we headed to Orlando, the epicenter of innovation and imagination. Our students had the unique opportunity to visit the Kennedy Space Center, where they learned about space exploration, rocket science and the fascinating history of NASA. They were thrilled to witness a larger than life experience and gain insights into the groundbreaking advancements in aerospace engineering.
In addition to exploring the wonders of space, our students enjoyed a day at Walt Disney World Resort, where they discovered the magic behind the scenes of theme park operations, entertainment technology and immersive storytelling. It was a day filled with fun, excitement and valuable lessons in creativity and innovation.
Throughout the trip, our students engaged in collaborative projects, team-building activities and discussions with industry professionals, educators, and experts in various STEM fields. They were encouraged to ask questions, share ideas and explore their interests, fostering a sense of curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning and travelling. Our STEM trip to New York, Orlando and Washington D.C. was a resounding success, providing our students with a comprehensive and immersive educational experience that will undoubtedly inspire them to pursue their interests and aspirations in STEM-related fields. We are grateful to our Principal & CEO, Mr. Srivalsan Murugan, Senior Leadership Team, Senior Management Team, parents, dedicated chaperones and Compass International for their commitment and guidance, ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and enriching journey for all.
We look forward to continuing with many more such overseas trips, to nurture our students' curiosity, creativity and passion for learning, preparing them to become the innovators, leaders, and changemakers of tomorrow.
