Annual Prize Day Ceremony 2023-24: "Bila Hudud - No Limits"

The 8th Annual Prize Day Ceremony for the academic year 2023-24 at Our Own English High School, Sharjah, Boys, was a magnificent celebration of perseverance, dedication, and outstanding achievements. Under the theme "Bila Hudud," meaning "No Limits," the event honored not only the remarkable accomplishments of the students but also the exceptional efforts of the teaching staff. This year's ceremony was held over two days: June 26 for grades 1-8 and June 27 for grades 9-12.

The ceremony on June 26th commenced with a warm welcome to distinguished guests, including the Chief Guest, Mr. Michael Guzder, Senior Vice President of Indian Schools at GEMS Education, our esteemed Principal & CEO, Mr. Srivalsan Murugan, and other dignitaries. The gathering was formally welcomed by Samford Sebin, the School Assistant Head Boy.  Mr. Srivalsan Murugan addressed the audience, emphasizing the transformative power of education in shaping character, embedding values, and igniting purpose. The annual report highlighted the students' exceptional accomplishments in both academic and extracurricular activities, underscoring their dedication and hard work. The Junior Choir performed "Be My Own Superhero" by Shawna Edwards, an anthem celebrating self-belief and courage, which added a touch of inspiration to the event.

The ceremony on June 27th began with a warm reception for the esteemed guest of honour, Dr. Eesa Mohammed Al Bastaki, a prominent scholar in engineering and communications and President of the University of Dubai, Mr. Srivalsan Murugan, Principal & CEO, and other dignitaries. Dr. Bastaki, the keynote speaker, delivered an inspiring speech, reminding everyone that no one is limited by labels and that passion and limitless thinking are what lead to excellence. He expressed immense pride in the students' accomplishments, both within and beyond the school walls.  The Annual Report for 2023-24 was presented by School Head Boy Mirav Padmesh Prajapat, President of the Student Council Juan Mathew, and Sports Captain Madhav Manoj Nair. They detailed the academic and extracurricular achievements of the students, showcasing the school's unwavering commitment to excellence. The Middle and Senior Choir added a moment of serenity and enchantment with their performances of "Can You Feel the Warmth Tonight" and "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," arranged by Mr. Michael Mordi.

Recognizing the invaluable contributions of the teaching staff, the Best Teacher Awards were also presented to seven exceptional educators, acknowledging their dedication and profound impact on students' lives. Additionally, special recognition awards were given to administrative and supporting staff, honoring their crucial roles in the school's success.
The Ceremony was a resounding success, reinforcing the school's vision of transforming hopes and dreams into reality and fostering a generation of diligent learners. The event highlighted the limitless potential of both students and teachers, celebrating their achievements and inspiring a continued commitment to excellence.
