On November 15, 2024, as part of COP29 week, eight students from Our Own Sharjah Boys participated in a special video conference on "Climate Change”. This engaging discussion connected them with youth representatives and environmental advocates from various countries, fostering a meaningful exchange of ideas.
The participants engaged in a thought-provoking dialogue by sharing personal examples of climate change impacts that resonate with them. Examples included air and water pollution, extreme heat, changing seasonal patterns, drought, and flooding—issues that could be pivotal discussion points at COP leadership forums.
The open exchange demonstrated critical thinking and creativity, as participants analysed the significance of these examples in the global context. They reflected on how these issues affect not just their local communities but also contribute to the broader narrative of climate change.
The session successfully encouraged diverse perspectives, emphasising the importance of collaboration and the role of young voices in addressing one of the most pressing issues of our time. The dialogue underscored a collective commitment to sustainability and climate action, leaving participants inspired to drive meaningful change.
