Conquering Boundaries: Duke of Edinburgh's Practice and Qualifying Journeys

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award programme recently provided our students with exciting adventures in the UAE's beautiful landscapes. Led by the Award Coordinator,  Mr. Joepaul and Assessor Mr. Shuhail Thayyil, students went on a practice trip in Al Ghail, RAK (January 29-30, 2024). Under the guidance of Mr. Ajish Joseph, they practiced and improved their outdoor skills and made lasting friendships.

The qualifying journey took place at Fossil Rocks, Sharjah (February 9-10, 2024). With the support of Mr. Joepaul,  Mr. Andrew Naylor from North Star, and Mr. Shuhail Thayyil, the students faced challenging climbs and explored the area. These expeditions were more than just exploring beautiful landscapes. Students camped, cooked, and overcame obstacles such as tricky trails, changing weather, and fatigue with excellent teamwork. By the end of the journey, they gained not only  unforgettable experiences but also new found confidence.
Reflecting on their journeys, the students expressed pride in their achievements and the valuable knowledge gained, with skills acquired for life.
