Our Own In-House Internship Programme

The Our Own In-House Internship Programme was officially inaugurated on 24 September, 2024 with the objective of equipping students with practical, real-world experiences across diverse domains. The programme aims to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and hands-on application, thereby preparing students for future careers by fostering essential skills and personal development. The rationale behind this initiative is to align with the school’s vision of holistic education, ensuring students gain not only academic knowledge but also practical skills that are valuable in today’s workforce.

The event commenced with an opening address by the Principal, who underscored the importance of the programme in fostering student growth and career readiness. The official logo and caption, "BE WHO YOU WANT TO BE," was unveiled, with the caption proposed by the Principal and the logo designed by a Grade 10 student, Munadir Ahammed Sabu. The programme featured seven internship domains: Teaching and Learning, IT, Front Office, Sports, Library, Operations, and Industrial Internship.A notable highlight was the session titled “In Conversation With,” featuring guest speakers Dr.Zakiya Abdul Samad – Assistant Professor, Heriot Watt, Dr.Bejay Jayan – Alumnus and Director of SMART Insulation Finishing System and Mr Suneer Hakeem – Parent Governor, who shared their insights on promoting the value of internships, enhancing students’ portfolios for scholarships, and the role of internships in developing transferable skills across various industries. 

Additionally, a creative mime performance by Grade 11 students artistically demonstrated the importance of internships in preparing students for their future careers. The Vice Principal followed with an address that reinforced how the programme aligns with the school’s educational objectives. The event concluded with the department in-charge and internship students being invited on stage to receive their respective curriculum, marking the official start of the programme.
